At least nine people were evacuated over a fire in Aberdeen on Friday afternoon. The fire broke out at a shipyard on Shum Wan Road at around 4.10pm, and was upgraded to a No 3 alarm half an hour later. At least three jets as well as two breathing apparatus teams were deployed to the scene. Videos circulating online showed large plumes of thick smoke billowing into the sky. "Members of the public who are being affected by the smoke and an unusual odour carried by the wind are advised to close their doors and windows and stay calm," the Fire Services Department said.
