Travel: Wine bath resort in Japan
The Beaujolais Nouveau wine baths were officially launched on Nov 21 in Hakone, west of Tokyo. The beverage-based bathing experience includes a "red wine" hot spring with a 3.6-meter-tall wine bottle. Visitors can see the wine show, in which staff members spray bathers with a bottle of Hakone wine. Whether a visitor sees the show or not, the red wine bath is perfect for every wine lover. "Bathing in wine is a rejuvenation treatment for the body," according to the spa. Japan is a major market for the French Beaujolais Nouveau. According to local media reports, about 5.3 million bottles of the wine will be imported to Japan by the end of the year.
