Police on Monday arrested a man who allegedly attempted to attack a magistrate with a knife inside a courtroom. The force said three officers suffered light injuries while trying to subdue the 32-year-old suspect at the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts. They were all sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding. The Department of Justice strongly condemned the case, saying any threat to judicial officers’ personal safety cannot be tolerated. “The SAR government will not tolerate any illegal or violent acts, and the police will thoroughly investigate the case, strictly enforce the law and bring any offender to account” it said in a statement.
