The Observatory says it may replace the Standby Signal Number one with a Strong Wind Signal No. 3 between 9am and 11am as Severe Tropical Storm Trami skirts the SAR. It said local winds are expected to pick up gradually in Hong Kong as the winds veer to the east later on, and some places which were previously sheltered become exposed. The Observatory said winds will ease off gradually on Sunday morning as Trami leaves. It said Trami was an estimated 540 kilometres south of Hong Kong, and is forecast to move across the South China Sea in the direction of the waters south of Hainan Island.
