Hong Kong hit by heavy rain again

Heavy rain continued to fall over Hong Kong on Friday with the Observatory issuing the Amber Rainstorm Warning just after 8.30 am. The amber signal means that heavy rain, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, has fallen and is likely to continue. The Observatory warned of flooding in some low-lying and poorly-drained areas, while the Labour Department told construction workers and contractors to pay attention to electrical safety in the workplace. The SAR has seen a number of amber warnings this week as a trough of low pressure persists over Guangdong.
