 | | NEWS - An Australian-based surfer named Troy Bottegal started a crowdfunding campaign to launch a new artificial reef structure called The Airwave. Bottegal has been prototyping this two-metre-high, 12-metre-wide, dome-like bladder filled with air that is designed to create bigger, surfable waves over the last decade. The unique part that separates his invention from other man-made reefs is that it’s inflatable. However, the first test was not a succes and the project is now on hold. |
