Sensor Integration Made Simple
Whether you’re retrofitting an older vessel or building a new one, connecting all the various sensors on the boat seems like yet another large cost. But Airmar’s new SmartBoat®system does just that in a flexible, cost-effective way.
Multiple analog sensors, such as thermistors, resistive senders, binary switches, relays, run detectors and more connect directly to SmartBoat modules regardless of their protocols. Their data is then converted and communicated via the NMEA 2000® network to the vessel’s MFDs, with no expensive, sensor-specific translation modules.
Configuration and control of the devices is done via a simple built-in, browser-based tool. Each device can be programmed to deliver specific PGNs and alerts, or even to initiate automated processes, such as pumping from one tank to another based on tank levels.
