YouTube sensation Chunkz has been compared to Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov after his sensational goal in the Sidemen charity match on Saturday. The annual match finished 8-7 to Sidemen FC over YouTube Allstars, with numerous online celebrities impressing.Related articles Man Utd star Harry Maguire on run that may show why he's been dropped Man Utd draw up Marcus Rashford contract plan amid impasse in talks
The game started with a bang as Chunkz put YouTube Allstars, managed by Manchester United content creator Mark Goldbridge, ahead after just six minutes. The 26-year-old received the ball over 30 yards from goal before looking up and smashing a strike past FIFA YouTuber PieFace and into the top corner.
The xG Philosophy have revealed that there was a 0.02 xG of him scoring from that range, which obviously drew plaudits. One viewer wrote: “Outrageous from Chunkz, full on Berbatov vibes in this game.”
Another fan wrote: “What a goal! Chunkz is so good.” One even went as far as saying: “He strikes the ball better than a lot of Premier League strikers.”
However, it was Sidemen FC who had the last laugh on the day in front of a packed out Valley, Charlton Athletic’s ground. Though it wasn’t just those in person who watches the game, over 2.3million tuned in to watch the game on YouTube, with many making donations that will be split between four different charities.
Miniminter scored a hat-trick on the day, with his 88th-minute chip over Cal the Dragon securing a historic win in the action-packed match. And the Leeds-supporting content creator will be hoping that his display could put him in the pipeline for a professional appearance after Crawley Town revealed that they were going to send scouts to the match.

Since their takeover, the League Two side have been hoping to broaden their fanbase online and see recruiting a YouTuber, or two, as the next step for increasing the profile of the club. Speaking about the decision to scout at the match, co-chairman Preston Johnson said: “It’s no secret that we want Crawley Town FC to become ‘The Internet’s Team.’ And while we’re normally referring to growing a global community of online fans when we use that term, why can’t it also refer to the players we scout and recruit to join our squad?
“We know this is an unconventional idea, to say the least. But we’ve never been shy about doing things differently, and we’re excited about partnering with The Sidemen and the opportunity to scout their charity match to potentially identify a couple of quality footballers who can join the club ahead of our first FA Cup match.”
Aside from Miniminter, ChrisMD, TBJZL and Harry Pinero all also impressed, though it would be no great surprise for Crawley to try and sign those with loyal followings, such as KSI and IShowSpeed, to maximise their growth opportunities.Related articles Man Utd boss Ten Hag told he has two undroppables but needs six more Man Utd set for Chelsea treatment from Barcelona as Vanderson wanted Man Utd could save millions by delaying Sergej Milinkovic-Savic move
