In a significant development, two foreign nationals, aged 27 and 33, have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Sibongile Portia Ngwana , who was reported missing on 28 November 2023. The Mangaung Police Station received the report from Ngwana’s distressed family. Subsequent investigations led to a grim discovery—a set of remains found in an open veld near M10 Road. While an expert at the scene confirmed the remains to be human, forensic tests are pending to conclusively establish whether they belong to Sibongile Ngwana. We appeal to our communities and next of kin to be patient and allow formal tests to be conducted before we presume the identity of these human remains,” said Motswenyane. The detained suspects are expected to face legal proceedings soon in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court.
