The Traitors returned with a bang tonight, as viewers were on the edge of their seats with a banishment looming over the contestants.

Claudia Winkleman graced our screens once again, hosting the third series of the gripping BBC show. The stakes were high from the get-go as the three Traitors were unveiled to the audience: Armani, Linda, and Minah wasted no time in plotting their first move.

The cunning trio set their sights on Yin, fearing her intelligence could be a threat, and decided she was too much of a risk to keep around. The rest of the players were left stunned by the decision, suspecting that Yin's impressive educational background had made her a target.

Viewers are now buzzing with predictions about who will face the chop next, with one fan lamenting on social media: "we're losing mother linda already aren't we #thetraitors," while another chimed in: "Linda you have been clocked already #TheTraitors."

A third viewer commented: "Even if Linda survives this round table banishment, which I don't think she will, she probably won't last much longer. Great opening episode though," reports the Mirror.

Speculation was rife, with another adding: "Think Linda is gone but it will be super close, with many votes for many people #TheTraitors," and yet another expressing disappointment: "It's gonna be Linda and I'm absolutely gutted #TheTraitors."

One more fan hinted at an ominous outcome for Linda: "Ooh Linda, looks like your time might be up #TheTraitors."

In a turn that left fans heartbroken, Yin became the first Faithful to be ousted from the game.

Before venturing into the castle, Yin opened up about her approach to the game: "I think it's important to have a game plan. You can't just leave it all up to chance.

"On the other end, if you're planning out every single thing, then that's also a bad idea, because people are unpredictable, and you cannot foresee the combination of individuals the producers have gathered together."

"So it has to be in between where there's some frameworks you'll follow, like a level of adaptation. You have to adapt to what the reality is. So at any time, I can pivot. You also need to be a bit like Jaz and observe, observe, observe, try to get exposure to all the other contestants.

"You also need to understand the physical environment of the castle - which rooms are really good for telling certain messages in and which ones are not. I'm going to store this information in my head but also write it down once I'm on my own in the evenings. I have a notebook with my pregame thoughts already."

Viewers of The Traitors were gripped by yet another unpredictable twist tonight, as it was unveiled that each departing player would now keep their allegiance a secret - a revelation made even more piquant following Kieran's bombshell parting reveal regarding Wilf's true role as a Traitor.
