The much anticipated National Lottery's New Years Eve Big Bash hit ITV tonight as it began the countdown to 2025. The show celebrated and reflected on moments from the past year, with live music, tantilising performances and star-studded appearances.
Vernon Kay and Fleur East were at the helm, putting their presenting skills to the test - but just minutes into the show beginning fans on social media were all thinking the same thing.
Former X Factor star Fleur looked stunning in a glitzy white dress. It had boning throughout to help structure an unusual shape - but fans couldn't help but make a comparison.
Despite the gown being paired with white heels and silver accessories, viewers at home joked that the singer "looked like a lampshade". Social media erupted with reactions.
Posting to X/Twitter, one fan joked: "#NYEBigBash Why is Fleur East wearing a lamp shade. All the beautiful dresses you can get and she wears that..."

A second echoed: "#NYEbigbash with Fleur East resembling a Lamp Shade." One more posted: "On the telly: some bird, Fleur East, just came out on stage wearing a lampshade," while another asked: "Is Fleur East wearing a lampshade? #newyear #Itv."
"Not sure who advised Fleur East on her outfit for tonight but they might want to chose a different career. #NYEBigBash," someone else suggested.
While one more quipped: "Everyone’s grandma and grandad had a lightshade in the 80’s like the one Fleur East is wearing. #NYEBigBash."
