Family life
The eldest of four children, she was raised in Gillingham, Kent, and shares a close bond with her sister, Manjeet Griffiths, who also works in the entertainment industry.

Balvinder Sopel's family loss
Tragedy struck Balvinder's life with the passing of her mother, Nirmal Sopal, this February 2024. The actress shared a poignant homage to her beloved mum on social media, painting a picture of a woman who exuded warmth, embraced change, and nurtured her family with love.
Balvinder honoured her as their "rock, friend, confidant, guiding light," and spoke vividly of her profound influence on their family unit.
She reflected: "As we told people, the one thing constant in people's memory was Mums huge warm smile, her ability to adapt to change and show love and respect to all."
