Audiences are treated to the escapades of J.D. portrayed by Zach Braff, and his best mate Turk, played by Donald Faison, as they navigate their early careers in medicine and the lively camaraderie they share with their peers, reports the Mirror.
Sarah Chalke, Neil Flynn, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Ken Jenkins, who portrays Chief of Medicine Bob Kelso, complete the original ensemble.
The series was conceived by Bill Lawrence, who found inspiration in his real-life doctor buddy and the namesake for J.D.
Post-Scrubs, Lawrence continued his creative streak, developing Cougar Town, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking. Before Scrubs, he made his name in television working on the Michael J. Fox show Spin City.
With a devoted fan base already in place, Scrubs is poised to captivate new devotees through ITVX. One fan summed up the sentiment, labelling the series: "Perfect in every sense of the matter."
One fan, expressing their enthusiasm online, remarked: "One of the very few comedy shows the last couple of decades with actual laugh out loud moments. And the occasional gut punch. Brilliant."
Echoing this sentiment, another viewer shared: "One of the greatest shows ever made. Often overlooked I think because most people might have only caught an episode or so and not truly followed it.
"But one of the best shows to go start to finish with. I've did this like seven or eight times now. Always just as enjoyable as the last time. When this show ended it was one of the few times I felt lost and upset about things."
Devotees of the series have a compelling reason to dive back in, especially if they haven't tuned into the watch along podcast. Amidst the Covid pandemic, Zach Braff and Donald Faison, stars of the show, launched Fake Doctors Real Friends, a weekly podcast where they reminisce over each episode, spilling behind-the-scenes anecdotes and sharing personal recollections from their time on set.
Scrubs is streaming on ITVX and Disney+.
