Loose Women: Ruth Langsford cuts to break as panel chat divorce
Loose Women was thrown into chaos as they switched to an ad break following Ruth Langsford's apparent swipe at her former flame, Eamonn Holmes.
The 64 year old broadcaster, who announced her split from ex-co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes in May, joined the panel on Tuesday's (December 10) show. The duo had shared over two decades of marriage and have a 22 year old son, Jack Holmes.
Ruth made her comeback on the popular ITV programme with co-stars Coleen Nolan, Kelly Holmes, and Mariella Frostrup, diving into hot topics of the day.
But it was during a heated discussion about whether parents should influence their adult children's choice of partners that Ruth seemed particularly engaged.
Mariella kicked off the debate, remarking: "I just think it's madness. You know for a fact no matter what position you take in your child's life if you intrunch yourself too deeply they are going to do the opposite thing anyway.", reports the Mirror.

She added: "How on earth would the inclusion of someone in family life be worth the jeopardy of not talking to your child anymore, I just can't imagine it."
Coleen weighed in with her perspective, stating: "I think it is important for parents to let their children find out for themselves and it might work out and they spend the rest of their lives together but it might be that they end up heartbroken and that's when as a parent you step in."
The topic swiftly shifted to the complexities that divorced parents face during key events, where Ruth candidly confessed: "I think it's very selfish when you hear parents say well if they are divorced then I'm not coming to your wedding if he's coming or if she is there and I just think it's so selfish isn't it because it is their day."

Mariella intervened with her perspective, highlighting a broader issue by remarking: "That's a whole other subject isn't it? How to divorce well."
In a light-hearted response to her own personal experiences, Ruth quipped regarding her recent split from Eamonn: "Oh tell me about it."
This unexpected comment led into an abrupt yet timely transition as Ruth announced, just before the commercial break: "Anyway funnily it's now time for a break".
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30 on ITV and ITVX
