This Morning: Kris Marshall admits he is terrible at spoilers
Beyond Paradise star, Kris Marshall, has revealed details about the upcoming Christmas special.
On Monday, the Love Actually star, 51, appeared on This Morning, where chat got onto the hit BBC detective spin-off that sees his character Humphrey Goodman take up the position of DI in the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott after leaving the tropical paradise of Saint Marie in search of a quieter life.
During his interview, host Cat Deeley asked: "What can you tell us because I've got to be very careful what I say otherwise I give too much away!", teasing the special is a bit scary with ghosts to which co-host Ben Shephard warned: "No spoilers!"
This prompted Kris to admit: "You couldn't be any worse than me at spoilers, I'm the worst, so I'll just sit here and tell you what it's all about...", the Mirror.
Teasing details, he revealed: "It's a ghost story really, a Christmas festive haunting, which is the kind of case that butters Humphrey Goodman's parsnips, if you know what I mean? His Christmas parsnips!
"Obviously, he's got until Christmas to solve the case, it's fun, it's got a bit of Dickens about it, it's very Christmassy and festive, it's also quite whacky as well!"
He added: "We go back inside, unique to the show, we go inside his head to solve the crime, he knows what's going on but anyone who comes with him inside his head doesn't know what's going on.
"They go back into the crime, revisit the crime and the people doing the crime have no idea what's going on so it's a little bit Scooby-Doo! I love it, it's very unique to the show and adds its own spiciness to it!"
Elsewhere during the chat, Kris revealed that he had just wrapped filming for series three last week which will air in 2025.
The actor originally played the role of DI Humphrey Goodman in Death In Paradise from 2014 to 2017. And he reprised the loveable character in Death In Paradise spin-off, Beyond Paradise, which launched in 2023.
Kris is also known for his other iconic roles, including Nick Harper in My Family, Colin Frissell in hit Christmas movie Love Actually and Tom Parker in ITV historical drama Sanditon.
The Beyond Paradise Christmas 2024 special will air on Friday 27th December at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
