The Madness official Netflix trailer
Netflix viewers have been eagerly anticipating the release of The Madness, but when will this thriller be available and what can we expect from the drama?
As Christmas draws near, a host of exciting new series are on the horizon, including Black Doves, Squid Game season two and Virgin River, to name just a few.
However, while fans await these hits, there's a fresh American conspiracy thriller limited series to look forward to - The Madness.
The Madness Netflix release date
The drama received the go-ahead in February 2023 and thankfully, the wait is over. The Madness premiered on Thursday, November 28.
All eight episodes have been dropped on Netflix, allowing subscribers to binge-watch the show over the weekend.
The Madness cast
Heading up the cast as TV pundit Muncie Daniels is actor Colman Domingo, who bagged an Emmy Award in 2022 for his role in Euphoria and earned a Tony nomination last year as a producer for the play Fat Ham.
He has had a busy few years, featuring in hit films such as Sing Sing, Candyman, The Colour Purple and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
To many fans, he is perhaps best recognised for his portrayal of Victor Strand in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead since its first series in 2015.
Colman isn't the only recognisable face in the show, with Orange Is The New Black star Marsha Stephanie Black playing Elena Daniels, Silver Linings Playbook's John Ortiz as Franco Quinones and Reasonable Doubt's TJ Mixson as Demetrius.
Other notable guest stars include Deon Cole from Black-ish, Hamish Allan-Headley from Mayor of Kingstown, Bradley Whitford of The West Wing fame and Stephen McKinley Henderson from Fences.
The Madness plot
As for what viewers can anticipate from the Netflix thriller, here's a brief synopsis of The Madness: "Muncie Daniels is a political consultant-turned-TV pundit who may have lost his way in life.
"While taking a work sabbatical in the Poconos to pen the great American novel, Muncie becomes the sole witness to the murder of a renowned white supremacist, and now he's being implicated in the crime.
"Muncie is compelled to flee in a desperate bid to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before it's too late.
"Along his journey, he'll reconnect with his family, discover unlikely allies, and combat disinformation in an era of post-truth."
The Madness is available to watch on Netflix.
