A Place in the Sun host finds out what buyers are looking for

A Place in the Sun presenter Craig Rowe faced a significant challenge as he was given the task of finding the perfect holiday home in Southern Tenerife for a couple.

In Friday's (November 22) episode of the well-liked Channel 4 show, Craig was charged with assisting Bridget and Rob in realising their long-standing dream of owning a sun-soaked property.

The pair have dedicated their lives to their careers, raising their children, and acting as foster parents to numerous children. Now, they are eager to do something special for themselves by locating a property where they can escape for restful breaks and abundant winter sunshine.

With a budget of £160,000, they were seeking at least two bedrooms in a tranquil area, but it was crucial that it was near local attractions or had easy access to public transport as they don't intend to bring their car.

The couple were not interested in renovating the property, so they insisted on it being fully finished with minimal alterations required, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Craig pulled out all the stops and arranged several properties for viewing, but it didn't get off to a great start as the host was compelled to 'move on' after the couple identified a major problem.

The property was a one-bedroom second-floor flat with one bathroom and had only been on the market for three months. It featured an open plan kitchen and living area and was just a ten-minute walk from the beach, shopping centre, and bus station.

Upon arrival, the couple immediately noted that their hoped-for serene front-view balcony faced a bustling thoroughfare. Bridget remarked: "The outside looks nice but it is just so busy so I'm not sure about that. I wouldn't say this is the dream."

Rob was quick to highlight a significant drawback, pointing out: "The downside is the balcony overlooking the main road and there is a lot of noise so it's put us off."

Realising the property was falling short of expectations, Craig inquired: "Having said all that, would you like to see the rest of this or are we drawing a line under this? ".

Conceding to the home's drawbacks, Bridget replied: "I think we'll draw a line." To which Craig responded: "Moving on then I think I'll need to find you somewhere with a bit of peace and quiet."

Ultimately, Craig acknowledged his 'disappointment' when the couple chose not to make an offer on any properties they viewed, yet remained optimistic about their return to explore further options.
