The Listeners official BBC trailer
A spine-chilling new drama series centred around a mysterious humming sound that only a teacher can hear is set to be released. The Listeners, based on Jordan Tannahill's novel, revolves around English teacher Claire, played by Rebecca Hall, who starts hearing a low hum that seems inaudible to everyone else.
In her quest to find others who can hear the hum, the BBC One sees her distance herself from loved ones and encounters a mysterious group of individuals who also claim they can hear the noise.
The BBC describes The Listeners as a series that "explores the seduction of the wild and unknowable, the human search for the transcendent, the rise of conspiracy culture in the West, and the desire for community and connection in our increasingly polarised times."
