Alan Plummer, the husband of late Australian TV presenter Erin Jayne Plummer, has tragically passed away in Freshwater, Sydney at the age of 49, just two years after his wife's suicide. This leaves their three children without parents.

A source familiar with the situation described his passing as "tragic", as reported by Mail Online. A statement from a NSW Police Force spokesperson to the publication confirmed: "Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the death of a 49-year-old man at Freshwater on Sunday," reports the Mirror.

Alan Plummer was found dead on one of Sydney’s northern beaches on Sunday (November 10). A source told the Daily Mail the incident was “tragic”.

Alan was the former director of Shine VIP Tours in Australia – a now defunct company. He had sold his family home just two months prior to his death – a four-bedroom house in Freshwater, which they had owned for more than 20 years.

They originally paid $675,000 for the property back in 2002, and listed it for sale in March 2024.

Erin's tragic death at the age of 42 came after battling mental health difficulties. The Studio 10 star, who also presented an aerobics TV show for six years, also represented her country in synchronised swimming – winning 11 national titles.

The family launched a GoFundMe campaign shortly after her death to hire a gardener and housekeeper to help “keep the household running”, and raised nearly $28,000 at the time.

Her Studio 10 co-stars Sarah Harris and Angela Bishop were tasked with announcing the sad news of Erin’s death, telling viewers: “Over the weekend, Studio 10 lost a little bit of sparkle with our friend and advertorial host Erin Jayne passing away suddenly.

“For two decades, Erin Jayne has been a friendly and familiar face on Australian television, for a lot of that she’s been brightening up our mornings with her bubbly personality and megawatt smile.”

Sarah said “Erin was just a gorgeous human inside and out and if it wasn’t for TV, Erin Jayne perhaps might have had a sporting career.

“She represented Australia in synchronised swimming and even surf life saving. There is no question Erin Jayne was a high achiever and certainly a gold medal mum to her three young girls.

“We’ll miss your sunshine around the studio Erin Jayne, and all of us here are sending lots of love and strength to her family."
