The Chase: Bradley tells Peston off for 'contradicting' him

Bradley Walsh demanded Robert Peston to "stop" as there was all to play for during the celebrity edition of The Chase.

The latest instalment of the ITV quiz show saw presenters Cherry Healey, Dallas Campbell, Ria Hebden and Robert Peston take on Paul Sinha in the hope of winning thousands of pounds for charity.

First up was presenter Cherry, who got the team off to a great start after answering eight questions correctly in the cash builder. The 43-year-old became the first contestant through to the final chase, with fellow TV host Dallas hoping to keep up the momentum.

And he certainly did that. After taking £7,000 into the head-to-head with The Sinnerman, Dallas managed to outrun the chaser and took the team's total to £15,000.

The third player to take on Paul was Ria, who answered three questions correctly in the cash builder. Despite Paul's attempts to move her from a different position on the board, the presenter stuck with her original offer of £3,000.

The final star to step up to the mark was Robert. Despite his fellow teammates taking the middle offers, they all urged him to go big or go home after Paul put £82,000 on the table.

Taking their advice, the ITV News editor decided to go for the high offer. Things got off to a rocky start as the 64-year-old answered the first question wrong and Paul got it right, meaning the pressure was on as the Sinnerman was just one spot behind him.

With £82,000 at stake, tensions began riding in the studio. Later in the head-to-head, Robert and Paul were asked: "The Dalmatian is included in which kind of Kennel Club's breed standards?"

The politics show presenter chose 'Utility'. Bradley began pacing up and down the studio as he said: "It's got to be utility."

However, a pessimistic Robert couldn't help but think the worst as he responded: "Bet it's not."

A furious Bradley hit back: "Stop saying that, Robert." The author began to laugh as Bradley continued: "Standing there just contradicting me. It's unfair."

The former Coronation Street actor humorously added: "And in front of my fans!"

Robert managed to make it through to the final chase, taking the team's total to an eye-watering £100,000. The team ended the final chase with 23 points, meaning the Sinnerman had his work cut out.

Although he looked to be gaining the upper hand, Paul began to stumble and the four celebrities took full advantage. With several pushbacks executed, Paul was unable to catch them and they walked home with £25,000 each for their chosen charities.
