Watch the trailer for NCIS: Origins
NCIS Origins has finally arrived, and fans are buzzing with excitement to delve into the cast, particularly Caleb Foote who stars as Special Agent Benjamin "Randy" Randolph.
The much-anticipated CBS prequel is set to give die-hard followers of the original series a glimpse into the early days of Agent Gibbs (portrayed by Mark Harmon), revealing more about his backstory.
Set in 1991, the show introduces us to a young Gibbs (played by Austin Stowell) as he embarks on his journey with NCIS.
He's quickly acquainted with Agent Randy (Caleb Foote), the agency's charismatic "all too lovable golden boy".
As a father of twins, Randy takes on the role of mentor to Gibbs, and now the spotlight turns to Caleb Foote, the actor bringing this character to life.
Early Career
Caleb Foote, who steps into the shoes of Special Agent Randy, is relatively new to the screen with acting credits starting from 2017, although he's no stranger to the stage.
His performance in Hand To God earned him the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle 2017 Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Male Performance.
Foote's screen debut was a minor part in Grey's Anatomy, followed by roles such as Pus Bucket in the seventh season of American Horror Story and Eli in the second season of American Crime Story.
He gained recognition with his portrayal of Eddie Cleary in ABC's The Kids Are Alright.
In 2021, Foote was cast in Max's Made For Love as Bennett Hobbes, sharing the screen with Cristin Milioti, famed for her role as Tracy in How I Met Your Mother.
Love Life
News on Foote's personal life remains scarce, considering his fondness for keeping private matters away from the public eye. However, it's common knowledge that he's romantically involved at present.
In a heartwarming post last month, Foote shared a series of delightful snaps on Instagram featuring himself and his sweetheart Reagan Jobie enjoying a fishing adventure, alongside the caption: "Catch and release."
While Reagan Jobie prefers to keep her Instagram account out of the public gaze, her bio indicates she's a therapist based in Salt Lake County.
The backstory of their romance, such as the beginnings of their relationship or its duration, remain under wraps.
Breathing Life into Agent Randy
Gibbs and Agent Mike Franks are familiar faces to NCIS aficionados, but Randy is a fresh addition to the roster, and Foote gave TV Insider an insight into the thrill of bringing him to the small screen.
Foote enthused: "I have a wonderful opportunity to create a new character."
He lauded the collaboration with the show's team, which allowed him room for creative input, saying: "Our entire team has been so helpful in that everything from my character's wedding ring.
"They let me pick the wedding ring to the watch that I wear, and I have input in the costume and my pistol holster, and this scuff mark on it and the story behind that, and so it's just been...so cool to create this character that doesn't exist."
NCIS Origins continues every Monday on CBS.
