Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has defended his relationship with Katya Jones after two moments between the pair sparked backlash.
The singer, famed for the unforgettable Go Compare television commercials, shut down the backlash as he explained that Katya has already become acquainted with both his girlfriend and their children.
He has shrugged off the 'wandering hand' incident broadcast on live TV last Saturday, which had viewers reaching for their fans.
The duo shared a video post-show to issue an apology over the exchange which apparently revolved around a poke regarding a failed high-five attempt from Wynne a joke lost on the show's enthusiasts who spotted his hand around Katya; waistline.
In candid revelations shared with the Daily Mail, the classically-trained vocalist disclosed: "She's almost 20 years younger than me, and she seems 20 years wiser than I am. We talk a lot about what's going on in life and what's going on in the world."
Wynne added: "I suppose I've learned that I can only focus on myself. I can't control anything else around me. And I mean, I still not very good at that, but I can't control everything around me. I can only control what I'm doing and how I'm doing and how I'm performing and how I'm behaving, and that's all I can really focus on.", reports the Mirror.
Wynne disclosed that Katya had been introduced to his family, and she will also be making journeys to Cardiff to facilitate their practice sessions due to his commitments with a local radio show.
Discussing their bond, he revealed: "She's met my children, she's met my girlfriend, she's met my brothers, my best mates, she's met all my friends. We had a big launch party in my house, and she met everybody then. They all have to say something about me so that she could get to know me better."
The dance duo responded to fans' worries with an Instagram video, where Katya initiated with: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke."
To which Wynne chimed in: "Yes sorry."
Further clarifying in the post's caption, Wynne wrote: "Apologies for this tonight we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening @katyajones."
