Emmerdale viewers were quick to point out a blunder made by Tom King in Monday's episode, as the villainous vet went to extreme lengths to conceal his malicious actions towards Belle Dingle.
Just last week, Belle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper, turned herself into the police after she defended herself against Tom, played by James Chase, with an axe.
Tom attempted to coerce Belle into retracting her abuse allegations against him, promising in return to remain silent about her role in the attack. He even concocted a tale for the police, blaming two unknown men for his injuries.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Belle courageously decided to confess, also reporting Tom for his domestic abuse. Consequently, Tom, who had been released from hospital, was summoned for questioning where he managed to lie his way through the interview.
It was later revealed that Tom was worried about a piece of damning evidence - he admitted to his lawyer that he had installed multiple cameras in his marital home and that footage still existed on one tablet, which had a zombie case and was often used by his young cousin Carl, that the police wouldn't think to look for, reports Leeds Live.
Unbeknownst to Tom, the tablet had been taken by Isaac Dingle from Carl who wanted to use it for gaming. However, Moira Dingle intervened quickly when she noticed downloaded files, which confirmed the existence of multiple cameras and surveillance of Belle.
Moira's determination to hand over the tablet to Belle was tragically interrupted by a seizure before she could explain her intent, leaving her confused upon waking due to her brain tumour diagnosis. Monday's episode saw Tom desperately infiltrating Butlers in search of the condemning evidence.
He managed to evade detection by Moira's son Matty Barton, found the device, and destroyed it but unbeknownst to him, Carl witnessed the act.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to slam Tom's mistake as they pointed out an 'easily found' piece of evidence that would bring down the villain once and for all. Social media users pointed out that the files would likely be available in the cloud and that the police would easily be able to locate them.
One person said: "He didn’t delete the evidence. That can easily be found in the cloud. #Emmerdale", a different account wrote: "Just wondering if they are aware of cloud services? Such as Google Photos? #emmerdale" while a third soap watcher pointed out: "Has Tom not heard of the cloud ? #emmerdale."
Elsewhere, another viewer wrote: "The evidence will be on the cloud #Emmerdale", a different soap watcher put: "#emmerdale this whole tablet thing - how many tablets can save hours and hours of video without it being in the cloud?" while another added: "Anyone want to tell Tom everything’s probs still on the cloud #Emmerdale."
