Lorraine and Julian Clary chat about Jane McDonald
Lorraine Kelly was utterly astonished on her ITV programme when an AI-generated image of Craig David as Willy Wonka appeared, catching her off guard.
The seasoned broadcaster was helming another segment of her eponymous show, traversing discussions from health issues to the world of showbiz. But during a cosy chat with the talented Craig, Lorraine couldn't conceal her shock.
As they delved into his illustrious career and new music, their talk veered off course as the host likened him to a beloved fictional confectioner. "Now look, can I say that you're a bit like Willy Wonka that you distribute chocolate bars to everybody," she questioned.
However, as she spoke, an unexpected visual of Craig's image melded with Willy Wonka's figure popped up on the screen, eliciting a yelp from Lorraine who exclaimed: "Oh, oh my God! What have you done?" reports the Mirror.
She then shrieked in jest, "Don't ever get that hairstyle," while a surprised Craig could only muster a "wow".

He did, however, hark back to a previous music video where he parodied Willy Wonka, revealing, "But in the What's Your Flavour video, if you go back to that video I did a whole Willy Wonka sketch in that. So I was actually playing Willy Wonka because my first album Born To It, the title actually came from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
After a two-year hiatus, Craig is back on the music scene with his latest single, In Your Hands. The artist, renowned for hits like 7 Days and Fill Me In, has also unveiled a nostalgic music video featuring his younger self.

Discussing the new track, which is a modern take on a traditional Christian song often sung in schools, he shared with Hits Radio: "In Your Hands is such an important song for me as I wanted to shine light on how truly special we all are. Especially when we allow our inner child to play, that part of us that holds the 'true' meaning and joy to life."
He further stated: "It was so important for me to land each part of the song to honour the simple, yet powerful sentiment of the chorus."
Alongside his new release, Craig is set to embark on a tour in February 2025.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
