The Chase aired a brand new episode this evening on ITV as viewers slammed it as "the worst ever". The game seemed to go from bad to worse, resulting in a disappointing end for both the players and viewers at home.
Bradley Walsh presented the much-loved show as he welcomed four new contestants to pit their wits against one of the ruthless Chasers in the hope of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands of pounds. Julia from Cardiff, Dickie from Litchfield, Georgina from Birmingham and Tim from Doncaster went head to head with Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty as they hoped to make it to the Final Chase.
But with two of four players going home empty handed and the remaining contestants opting for low offers, fans were left furious while watching the ITV quiz show. Julia and Georgina found themselves playing in the Final Chase for a measley £1,200, after Julia bagged £200 and Georgina played for the rest.
Taking a swipe at the two low-offer contestants, Anne said that she "very much doubted" they could outrun her once more. The Chaser was right as she caught the two players with one minute and 22 seconds left to spare. Fans continued to fume with many branding it "the worst" episode ever.
One wrote: "Worst episode I've seen first a very long time. Absolute garbage from start to finish #thechase," as another added: " The worst performance I have ever seen on #thechase. Laughable."

Someone else claimed: "Wow. Lowest final I've ever seen. #thechase." Someone else penned: "£1,200 between 2 people. Got to be the lowest I can recall. Chaser’s right to laugh. This will be painful to watch #TheChase."
However, others loved the drama of the show, with one writing: "Very entertaining episode of #thechase @thechase today."
Anne was recently outed as the "best quizzer" on the ITV tea time show. Since The Chase launched, its six quizzers have won around 76 percent of all episodes, but Anne is the one who has come out on top.
