Coronation Street aired a new mystery on Monday night involving Joel Deering.
During the latest episode, Dee-Dee Bailey, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, received an odd voice message from evil ex Joel, played by Calum Lill, with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) speculating it could be a suicide note.
Soap fans will recall that Joel was finally caught out in recent episodes with evidence proving his evil crimes, leaving him facing prison and fiancée Dee-Dee dumping him, calling off their wedding, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Later on Monday's episode, fellow police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) revealed he had a lead on Joel and he managed to locate his last whereabouts, where they found his car parked next to a bridge with a folded note on the dashboard, fearing he could be dead and had taken his own life.
However, Dee-Dee was suspicious and didn't believe the police's theory as she headed to the crime scene herself. After asking Joel's past victim, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), about the location image she had tracked of Joel, Dee-Dee investigated where she found a small car hidden in the woods.
Dee-Dee immediately told DS Swain, who assured her they would look into it. Later, while searching Joel's flat, DS Swain and Kit discovered the notebook the evil solicitor used for his note, realising that it was all pre-planned.
Later, as Dee-Dee continued to argue the case that Joel had clearly faked everything, Kit received a call where it was revealed that the car did belong to Joel with his DNA in the vehicle as well as a laptop under the seat. The duo were left confused over the second vehicle being unused with a perplexed DS Swain pointing out: "There's no obvious answer!"
However, viewers are convinced they have an 'obvious answer' as they took to Twitter, now X, to share their theories. Soap watchers are convinced that Joel has faked his own death and will return for an explosive storyline with Kit helping him.
Viewers have previously shared their suspicions over dodgy copper Kit, especially after he previously planted a then missing Lauren's DNA to frame Nathan Curtis, who was arrested, with real culprit Joel then still at large.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Looks like Joel gonna be back for xmas revenge storyline #Corrie", a different account wrote: "#Corrie ah yes - Joel faking his death!", another predicted: "Kit has a hand in this Joel business. Mark my words. #corrie", a different soap watcher put: "Kit helped orchestrate that #corrie" while another added: "Don't trust Kit at all... #corrie."
Coronation Street continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on both ITV and ITV X.
