Coronation Street: Gail emotional as she moves home
There’s going to be a surprise in store for more than one Weatherfield resident next week as Coronation Street has confirmed the return of Jesse Chadwick.
Last seen on the cobbles 15 years ago, fans of the ITV soap will remember his romance with Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).
When Eileen spots him following her trip to Thailand, it’s clear he isn’t there to rekindle their past relationship.
Instead, she’s shocked to learn he’s in Weatherfield looking for her neighbour and nemesis, Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
The revelations keep coming as Jesse and Gail reveal they met each other a few years ago when she was travelling and have kept in contact all this time.
After learning about her granddaughter’s surgery nightmare in Turkey, Jesse decides to pay a visit to his friend and offer some support.
However, is there more to Gail and Jesse’s friendship than meets the eye and is he being entirely truthful about his reasons for getting back in touch?

Gail’s family are suspicious about Jesse’s true intentions, after knowing his history with Eileen. Although Gail is thrilled that she’s reunited with her travelling friend, there could be more conflict unfolding on the cobbles.
Speaking about his return, John detailed how he felt when getting the call from the bosses asking him to come back.
He said: “It was always a case of never say never, but it came in between jobs for me so the timing was perfect.
“I have a young daughter so I don’t like to travel too far from home and although the last time I was in the show was 15 years ago it has felt like meeting up with an old friend you haven’t seen for a long time and the years just melt away.”
Jesse first arrived in Weatherfield back in 2008 and quickly started up a relationship with Eileen the following year.
Although their relationship came to a rocky end after Jesse came into some money at the bookies and failed to take her on holiday.
When he returned, Jesse attempted to make a pass at Eileen’s half-sister, who wasted no time in telling her everything.
After they both confronted him, Jesse quickly fled the area and he’s been away ever since.
However, now that he’s back, how will Eileen feel about his attention now being on Gail?
When asked how it’s been working with the Platt family, the soap star said: “Helen and I are absolutely thrilled to be working together, everyone’s good company and there’s always fun to be had on set with the Platts which is great.
“It was a bit like crank handle starting a car after all these years but the laughs have got us through.”
Jesse’s return comes ahead of Gail Platt’s upcoming departure from the cobbles.
Earlier this year, Helen Worth revealed she was bowing out of the ITV soap after 50 years.
With a new man in Gail’s life, could his arrival be the beginning of the end of Helen’s time in Coronation Street?
