The first couple to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has been leaked, with the spoiler leaving fans up in arms and the judges under intense scrutiny.

Despite the BBC One results show not airing until Sunday night, it's widely known that the dance-off occurs just hours after the performances in the latest live show.

This anticipation over the result leads many Strictly fans to stay up late on Saturday night to discover who has been sent packing.

With no elimination in week one, the celebrities and their dance partners battled to remain in the competition this weekend. Shortly after the result was leaked online, fans took to social media to share their frustrations.

While Express.co.uk won't reveal who was sent home, reactions to the leak included shocked comments such as: "That’s gobsmacked me" while another bewildered fan posted: "OMG. How did that happen?"

"This is so unfair," declared another viewer. Hitting out at the judges, another fumed: "Poor decision." Another weighed in: "Disappointed for them, didn't see that happening at all. Shocker of a result." Meanwhile someone else remarked: "Wow, that's a big shock. Wouldn't have called that at all."

Week two got off to the perfect start for former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec as their moving Viennese Waltz to Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore landed them at the top of the leaderboard.

The duo were awarded 35 points out of 40, the highest ever score for a Viennese Waltz in week two of the competition in Strictly history.

An intense and heated Paso Doble to Freed From Desire earned Miranda star Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola 32 points, leaving them in second place on the leaderboard.

Paul Merson on Strictly Come Dancing

At the other end of the leaderboard was Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones, who scored 18 points for their energetic Jive to Tina Turner's Nutbush City Limits. Anton Du Beke felt she had improved "1,000 times better" than the previous week, a view Shirley Ballas echoed.

Craig Revel Horwood pointed out Toyah's "flat footed" moments but couldn't help expressing his love for her energy. At the bottom of the leaderboard was Paul Merson.

Partnered with Karen Hauer, the former footballer gave a spirited Salsa performance to Pitbull's Fire, scoring 15 points. Craig likened the routine to a "comedy dance at a wedding", while Shirley was "lost for words", describing it as "pure entertainment".
