Doctor Who: The eleventh Doctor meets The Curator
The excitement for the forthcoming series of Doctor Who is building and the cast for series 15 has just expanded.
According to Deadline, Emmy award-winning actress Archie Panjabi has been announced as the latest addition to the cast, taking on the role of a new villain set to challenge the Doctor.
While details about Archie's character are still under wraps, she will be joining regulars Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, who portrays the Doctor's companion Ruby Sunday.
Previously, it was disclosed that actress Varada Sethu and ex-Coronation Street star Charlie Condou would also be part of the upcoming season.
Archie's illustrious career in film and television spans over three decades, with the actress landing some significant roles over the past 30 years, reports the Mirror.

She first rose to prominence in the British comedy film East is East in 1999, where she played the character of Meenah Khan.
The film followed the lives of the Khan family, a mixed ethnicity family residing in Salford in the 70s, as they grapple with cultural clashes and familial conflicts.
In 2002, she featured in Gurinder Chadha's Bend It Like Beckham, sharing the screen with Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Anupam Kher.
Her most recent major movie role was in the 2015 American disaster film San Andreas, where she starred alongside Hollywood titan Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Archie garnered critical praise for her portrayal of Kalinda Sharma in the legal political drama series The Good Wife, which she starred in from 2009 to 2015.
During her tenure on the show, she bagged numerous accolades including two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and a Primetime Emmy Award. She was also nominated for several Critics' Choice Television Awards, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Further showcasing her acting talent, she clinched awards at prestigious events like the Berlin International Film Festival and Cannes International Film Festival. In 2016, she graced the ITV crime drama series Shetland, appearing in the third series as Detective Sergeant Asha Israni.
Doctor Who season 15 will air on BBC One in 2025. An exact release date is yet to be revealed.
