BBC Breakfast: Barking pooch interrupts DogFest segment

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty snapped "it's not working" after she had to step in to help her co-star Charlotte Gallagher - who was struggling to host the live segment at DogFest.

Presenter Charlotte had been reporting live at the event and had already showcased a number of talents of the pedigree's who joined her on air. But one naughty pooch seemed to take a dislike to her and began to bark at her, demanding his treat.

Trying to hush the dog so that she could finish up hosting, she said to the labrador causing the noise "do not bark, we've had this talk," she desperately tried to carry on but the noise only got louder.

Earlier in the show, the presenter had explained that she would be taking one dog around the course later on which would see her provide instruction in order to complete each obstacle. It suddenly became apparent to Charlotte that things might not go to plan.

Looking down at the four legged member, who was continuing to bark, she begged: "You're definitely not going to listen to me, I think it's going to go well". At which point, on-air host Naga stepped in, interrupting to offer up some advice.

She said: "Charlotte, I think you need to speak to Mr Dogter to get some tips on how to, you know, take control." Naga snapped: "Yeah, it's not working Charlotte, work on that assertive voice. You work on that."

Before things had finished up, there appeared to be a tug on the lead that the presenter at DogFest had been holding."Ohh look she's being yanked off," sniggered Naga as she and Charlie had a good giggle about the "chaos" back in the studio.

With a smile on his face, Charlie declared: "I'm enjoying the chaos, I think we could do with more of that." Naga is rarely lost for words but she struggled to find a response as she smirked, nodded and then sarcastically responded: "It's great."

There was a brief moment of pause as the two on-air hosts composed themselves before they probably got a buzz in their ear pieces from producers to move on with the news.

Meanwhile, earlier in the programme there was further laughter to be had after another blunder took shape on-air after Naga had been discussing pre-sale tickets that had already been added to sites for extortionate prices.

The host was issuing a warning to those who had already popped their tickets online for thousands of pounds after Noel and Liam Gallagher expressed that tickets would be cancelled if terms and conditions were ignored.

However, Naga got a case of the giggles as the image behind her had literally beheaded the Oasis brother's, showing just their legs in the zoomed-in shot.

Noticing the error, she promised: "You’ll see more," as Naga jokes: "Later on. That was just their lower halves!" Turning to the image, she let out a giggle while looking unimpressed.

BBC Breakfast airs every day on BBC One, from 6am.
