Furious BBC viewers slammed the taxpayer-funded broadcaster for seemingly downplaying the Reform Party's results in yesterday's General Election, while others were frustrated at the amount of coverage the party was getting.

Fans took to Twitter to slam the "bias", with one exclaiming: "BBC still ignoring the fact that #Reform have a larger percentage of votes with 4 seats than the Lib-dems who have 70. Farage got more votes than the next Prime Minister let that sink in!"

Another confused viewer wrote: "BBC just claimed that the 'other' vote, INCLUDING reform will be 2%. That doesn't make sense." A third raged: "@reformparty_uk only ITV & @GBNEWS showing reform total on the results screens. BBC, SKY ignoring reform despite displaying green total on the same number but reform have massive share of vote @TiceRichard."

A fourth chimed in: "Flicking between the TV channels. Pundits galore from the House of Lords, newspaper/podcast commentators, representatives of the major parties. None from, e.g., the trade union movement or Reform UK (with the exception of GB News). The UK media operates in a political bubble."

However, not everyone agreed that there was bias against Nigel Farage's party. One hit back: "@PaulEmbery BBC and C4 both had Reform representatives at the start of the evening, both for quite some time."

Others argued: "Reform get 4 seats and the BBC talks about them for hours. The Greens get 4 seats and get about 20 minutes in total."

Another added: "BBC cutting to Clacton every time Farage scratches his nose. It’s a mystery how Reform are doing so well…" as a third chimed in: "Getting the impression from the BBC that Reform has won the General Election."

While traditionally the Conservatives or Labour have always been the main players at elections, the Lib Dems are also gaining prominence, while Reform achieved incredible results too.

Despite totally outperforming expectations, Nigel - who plans huge changes for the country including more punishment for dangerous criminals and an end to non-essential immigration - is adamant he won't make a bid to lead the Tories.

Instead, he has voiced desires for a takeover bid, or a merged Conservative-Reform Party.

In an opinion piece for the Telegraph last month, Farage made the extent of his political ambitions clear.

"Mark my words, Reform will be the next opposition party, then government awaits," he declared. Meanwhile, the Lib Dems also made gains in the election due to the collapse of the Conservative Party.

In the last general election in 2019, Boris Johnson had claimed an easy win, leading with a 80-seat majority, while Labour faced its worst results since 1935.

However, the handling of the coronavirus pandemic weakened public faith in the PM - and even cabinet reshuffles couldn't save the position of the Tories.

Meanwhile, BBC coverage of Labour's victory has been branded "tedious" by some, over a lack of reporting direct from the polling stations.
