Emmerdale: Charlotte Bellamy shares injury she suffered on set
Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy, who portrays Laurel Thomas in the ITV soap, revealed to Lorraine Kelly that she was rushed to A&E following an on-set accident.
The incident occurred while her character was "making a Bolognese" with a "blunt knife", leading to a mishap where the blade slipped.
Charlotte recounted how she ended up slicing "the top of her finger off" and was hurriedly taken to medical professionals, all while donning a faux pregnancy belly. Her character Laurel was pregnant at the time, which led to some confusion at the hospital when doctors initially believed her fake baby bump was real.
During her hospital visit, Bellamy remembered having to clarify the unusual circumstances after medical staff expressed concern for her unborn child - who, of course, wasn't real.
Initiating the conversation, TV presenter Lorraine asked the soap star: "Did you not end up in A&E? Tell me what happened with that? You had a bump?"

"This is something that happened on set years ago," explained the actress before adding: "During filming, I was making a Bolognese, as you do, with a very blunt knife and I'm chopping and on the take, I chop the top of my finger off."
She continued to share: "At the time, I was pretend pregnant as Laurel so I had to get rushed into A&E with the prop man and with my pretend bump. They were so confused and they were more worried about my baby but obviously, my baby wasn't real, and nor was my husband", reports the Mirror.
Lorraine couldn't help but laugh at the situation, jokingly remarking: "And then you have to go, that's not my husband and the baby isn't real but I have actually chopped the top of my finger off with a knife while making Bolognese for a show... and they go 'ahh ok', it's bonkers, isn't it?"
In conversation with the host from Scotland, Charlotte shed light on an upcoming twist for her character, Laurel, in the show, disclosing she's set to collapse in the episode airing tonight.
ITV has teased that the plot will thicken for Laurel as she finds herself in dire straits after Jai Sharma, enacted by Chris Bisson, struggles to come clean to Suni Sharma, his half-brother.
Tensions escalate to a fierce clash where Jai oversteps, invoking the memory of her deceased husband Ashley, leading to Laurel's concerning collapse and seemingly unreachable for help as her phone continues to ring.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
