ITV fans have been fuming yet again as their beloved Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been taken off air this evening.
Normally soap fans get to look forward to a trio of soaps on a Wednesday evening with Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street all airing. The first two soaps normally air at 7.30pm, followed by an hour-long Corrie at 8pm.
However, tonight, ITV will be airing the Georgia v Portugal match instead as the live coverage of UEFA Euros 2024 continues. Kick-off will be at 8pm and the live coverage will air from 7.15pm to 10.30pm.
Mark Pougatch will be presenting, with analysis from Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ange Postecoglou, and commentary by Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist.
Emmerdale is set to return to ITV tomorrow evening, (June 27), with an hour long episode from 7.30pm. Meanwhile, both of the soaps will be back on screens at their normal times on Friday evening.

But it seems fans of the broadcaster are sick of the footie and want their soaps back. Complaining on X, formerly Twitter), one angrily penned: "These Euros playing f**k with Corrie and Emmerdale. @itv you s**tbags."
Another suggested: "@ITVX @emmerdale @itvcorrie Why don’t you upload a week's worth of episodes on ITVX instead of the hassle uploading each day at 7am during the euros. I know you don’t want to deprive diehard soap fans. Less hassle of certain days no soaps showing. consider #corrie #emmerdale."(sic)
Someone else wrote: "#Emmerdale I get it's the Euros but do @ITV have to show so much inane crap after the match for 30+ mins?"

A fourth posted: "@elonmusk Hi Elon, could you please use your influence to either cancel the Euros (might be a big ask), or get ITV to switch the Euros to a secondary channel such as ITV3?
"My best friend looks after their nan and Emmerdale and Coronation Street makes their evenings bearable. Ta."
Another user penned: "I love watching the Euros. I also love watching Emmerdale and Corrie. Why do we have to miss our soaps for the footy? There would be uproar if it was the other way round. Can’t ITV use one of their other channels either for the footy or the soaps?"
