ITV Emmerdale Christmas storyline 'rumbled' by fans as they predict major twist

Emmerdale's Christmas plot has been 'exposed' by fans, and they're not exactly thrilled.

Currently, Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Droper) is embroiled in a harrowing domestic abuse storyline with her new spouse Tom (portrayed by James Chase).

Belle and Tom, former lovers, reignited their relationship last year and subsequently got hitched. However, audiences have witnessed Tom, the son of the notorious Carl King, emotionally torment Belle in recent episodes.

Over time, Tom's dominance over Belle has escalated, leading to physical assaults, with the narrative poised to take an even more sinister turn. Adding to the tension, Belle recently found out she was expecting.

But, feeling incapable of bringing a child into their destructive relationship, she chose to terminate the pregnancy without telling Tom, instead claiming she had miscarried. In Monday's episode (24th June), Belle confided in her mental health care coordinator about her abusive relationship while Tom was at work, prompting the suggestion that she should leave.

Initially reluctant, Belle eventually agreed and started packing her things. Meanwhile, Tom was seething at the new Barn after discovering Belle had lied about their baby and chosen to end the pregnancy, reports the Daily Star.

Enraged and wielding a metal bar, he accidentally struck the barn's rotary isolator.

Despite his dire situation, Tom was able to recover. Outraged fans are now predicting that this plot will continue until the festive season, with a popular character continually suggested as the likely victim.

Fans took to the platform previously known as Twitter to voice their thoughts about the possibility of Tom being led to his grave. One incensed viewer declared: "Can't believe they are really going to drag Tom and Belle's story out until Xmas. How much further can the story really go? (Unless Tom attempts to kill Belle)."

Another noted: "I've worked it out. Belle will kill Tom and that will give us a good Christmas story."

A third speculated: "What's the betting it'll be 5 months of Tom ramping up the abuse by blackmailing belle that he will destroy Noah by blaming his dodgy wiring on his accident. Belle Will never be able to leave! ! ! ! ".

One fan added to the discussion: "I can see Belle accidentally killing Tom as he pushes all her buttons." While a fifth commented: "This is gonna drag on till Christmas."

Fans will havw to wait out and see when Tom will finally be exposed.
