Netflix subscription holders can now enjoy the screen adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, which was first released back in 2005. The film stars Kiera Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Darcy.
The two-hour-long movie also stars Vera actress Brenda Blethyn as Mrs Bennet and Rosamund Pike as Jane Bennet. Rounding off the cast is Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly and Tom Hollander.
It appears a U-turn has been made after the streamer dropped the movie from its extensive list back in October 2023. The Joe Wright adaptation is considered to be one of the best of Jane Austen's love story.
The film follows Elizabeth Bennet, the eldest of five daughters who live with their parents in the English countryside. Being the eldest of her siblings, outspoken Elizabeth faces pressure from her parents to marry.
There is instant chemistry when she meets upper-class Mr Darcy, whose reserved nature threatens the relationship. Wright's adaptation introduced a new generation to Austen's work.

For those who are still considering whether to subscribe to Netflix, an ad-supported, lower-priced tier is now available.
This tier costs £4.99 per month and is the only membership option which includes adverts.
To sign up to Netflix subscribers need a valid email address and a credit or debit card. They can then create an account with an email and choose a password.
Back when the film was first released, Macfadyen spoke out about the fact his character was the most famous within the story, despite it being centred around Elizabeth.

He told Darcylicious: "It was daunting in that I was aware there was the Darcy 'thing', and that people are quite proprietorial about Pride & Prejudice as a whole.
"‘Why are they making another version?’ ‘How dare they?’ ‘You better not f*** it up!’ They’re really fierce, the Jane-ites. Which is good, because it’s a classic, and it’s much loved.
"But I hadn’t seen the BBC version, so I didn’t really worry about it. Because you can’t as an actor, otherwise you could never play Hamlet or you could never play Richard III.
"Actually it was quite flattering to be in such good company. A lot of people asked me how I would be trying to make it different from Colin Firth, which is strange because even if I had seen him, I wouldn’t try because you couldn’t. You do what you can do."
Back in March this year Colin Firth's 'wet-shirt' costume as Mr Darcy in the TV series sold for £20,000 at Kerry Taylor Auctions.
