House of the Dragon Season 2 official trailer

Matt Smith, former Doctor Who and star of House of the Dragon, has a novel approach to solving

the bitter feud consuming the Targaryen family.

He wants to invite his foes to a tea party.

On the eve of the start of the much-awaited second season, he said: “I think we all need group

therapy.

“In the absence of that we could all have a cup of tea along with some red velvet cake. It might do

it.”

Smith, who also admitted that his character Prince Daemon Targaryen was an “agent of chaos”

among his family, told super fan Sue Perkins at the London premiere: “I think my character would

definitely win The Bake Off. But if he came second in a technical he would probably skewer

everyone else!”

He admitted, as one of the show’s assassins, he needed to calm down.

“I think he should take up chess!”

Little likelihood of that after the bloodbath at the end of series one.

Said Smith “Grief is the catalyst for a lot of the Targaryen battles.”

As one of the chief “dragon riders” and a loyalist to the iron throne, Smith who also played Prince

Phillip in The Crown, had good news for fans of the show’s stunning visual effects.

“The great thing is that we now have 14 dragons. That’s five more than the first season.”

The action in the series starts only two weeks after the carnage of the first season, ending with a

shocking conclusion to episode one.
