Download Festival: Bleed from Within suffer technical issues

As festival goers descend upon Donington Park in Leicestershire this weekend for the annual Download Festival, the UK's premier rock celebration has been hit with technical issues. On day two of the festival (Saturday 15 June) fans excitedly gathered at the Opus stage to watch Bleed From Within from 1.40pm to 2.30pm, but the band didn't start performing until 20 minutes into their set.

Lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Scott Kennedy interrupted the set after one of their songs to share some devastating news with their beloved fans. He expressed: "Unfortunately because of the problems that we had before we started, I'm f*****g devastated to let you guys know that is now our last f*****g track."

At this point, the audience began booing and making noise as they were left heartbroken over the set being cut short. Scottish native Scott continued: "There are other bands that have to play on this stage after us so make some noise for them.

"I'm seriously f*****g gutted because I was having such a good f******g time and you guys are such an incredible f*****g crowd so make some noise for yourself." The crowd began cheering as they held up rock and roll signs with their fingers.

"We f*****g love you," the band expressed before departing the stage to make room for the next bands. Earlier on in the set, the band had a special surprise for their fans as they brought out some special guests for an impromptu performance.

Scott revealed: "We've been told we have one more surprise for you guys now. So we have a couple of friends backstage and their dream, their f*****g dream was to play on stage at Download Festival.

"We're gonna bring them out and do a little cover for you guys. Please welcome to the stage, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan."

The audience once again erupted into a loud cheer as the two unlikely candidates arrived on stage and performed with the band.

A sypnosis for the episode reads: "Rob & Romesh are going on a journey into the world of Heavy Metal. With Romesh already a fan, it’s up to him to try to convince Rob that they can fit into this world.

"The episode will culminate with Rob & Romesh joining Bleed From Within during their set for a special performance of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ at the incredible Download Festival in front of a field full of Metal fans."

Download Festival culminates tomorrow (Sunday 16) with bands including Avenged Sevenfold, Limp Bizkit and Bowling For Soup taking to the Apex stage.

Machine Head, Corey Taylor, Electric Callboy and Thy Art is Murder will be performing at the Opus stage at various points of the day.
