Coronation Street fans have pieced together a connection between Lauren (played by Cait Fitton) and the enigmatic Ellie, as they believe they've figured out her location. The ITV soap delved into the mystery of Lauren Bolton's disappearance on Wednesday night with viewers convinced they know who is responsible for her presumed death.
Lauren vanished in February this year and has since been assumed dead by law enforcement. DS Swain (Vicky Myers), who is spearheading the investigation into Lauren's supposed demise, expressed certainty that Lauren was deceased after identifying a probable murder weapon in her flat.
She revealed that blood and human tissue were discovered on an object from the flat, suggesting she had suffered a blow to the head. DS Swain previously confirmed the discovery of a bloody leg from a broken chair. The police are convinced that someone assaulted and killed Lauren using the chair leg as a weapon - but did this really occur?
In last night's episode, the police orchestrated a reenactment of Lauren's last known movements, hoping to glean more information from the public. However, Bethany was shaken when she spotted her malevolent ex, Nathan Curtis, at the scene.
Meanwhile, Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) reached out to a girl named Ellie, believing she might hold additional information about Lauren's whereabouts or what transpired.

Prior to her disappearance, Cait Fitton hinted at the perils facing Lauren, telling The Mirror exclusively: "There's a lot of danger there.
"She's a vulnerable 18 year-old-girl so she's bound to make mistakes, but she's still young. It's a shock for Lauren because she blurts out [her secret] to Max, but Sabrina as well, and she's not that close to Sabrina so it's quite complicated."
"Even though she can't accept it herself she's expecting other people to, which is interesting to play but there will be a lot of danger ahead. I can't reveal too much but it's a very exciting storyline.
"Corrie always does an amazing job smashing all their serious storylines, so all I can say is stay tuned. Lauren lacks a lot of self-confidence and self-love, which is why she's doing a lot of what she's doing.
"Things didn't work out with Max, she lives next to Sabrina, and there's still that barrier up between them."
