Good Morning Britain viewers 'switch off' as Martin Lewis return sparks frenzy

Finance journalist and money expert Martin Lewis is a regular presenter on Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid and he has spoken out on all sorts of topics.

However, his extensive knowledge has been put to good use as he often shares his opinion on the latest money headlines, sometimes to viewers' distaste.

On Wednesday's show, he explained why now might be a good time to get money from energy suppliers and check energy direct debits. Although fans started getting bored of his input, saying he should stick to his own Martin Lewis Money Show.

Martin explained in front of a screen displaying graphics: "When we come into May our energy usage drops which is why now is a good time to check whether you are in credit and if you should claim it back or reduce your monthly payments."

He also spent time grilling energy bosses and answering questions from the public, and viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts.

@deli21girl said: "Thought I’d slipped into a parallel universe where I was watching The Martin Lewis show."

@Sane_Steve slammed: "Isn't Martin Lewis content with boring the f*** out of us on his own show."

@Crocidolite11 added: "Switched #GMB on. Saw it’s another the Martin Lewis show. Switched over to #BBCBreakfast"

However, @_clara_lfc valued his input, saying: "Martin Lewis should be on #GMB all the time asking the questions WE want asked and he’s not in ANYONE’S pocket!

"Plus he walks all over the MP’s financial bull****! #GMB"

@therealdeal506 simply said: "Martin Lewis" alongside a GIF of Friends character Chandler Bing falling asleep at his desk, suggesting Martin was sending viewers to sleep.

Martin started his GMB career in March 2023, following the departure of Piers Morgan.
