Blue Lights: David and Helen interview Lee
BBC's Blue Lights aired its fourth episode of the second series on Monday evening (May 6) and just minutes into the show, viewers complained that they were getting "mixed up" with another fan favourite - The Responder.
Many people watching at home thought that the crime drama had a similar storyline to its rival show, with them both following detectives and police officers carrying out their jobs. According to fans, the only differences were one being set in Belfast and the other in Liverpool.
Posting on Twitter, one social media user complained: "#BlueLights now I'm getting mixed up between the plots of this and #TheResponder." Someone replied to the comment saying: "Me too".
A third Twitter user said: "They're the same except we've Frank Mitchell #TheResponder #bluelights." Another added: "Where would I rather live Belfast or Liverpool? #bluelights #TheResponder"
While some viewers complained that the BBC crime dramas were too similar, others absolutely loved it and said both shows were right up their street. Many praised the TV channel for creating quality shows.

One fan on Twitter said: "Finished #BlueLights last night. Just outstanding! Up there with Happy Valley and Responder." Another added: "Got to say the #BBC are making some great dramas at the moment #TheResponder #BlueLights."
A third said: "If you thought #Responder was good get on #BlueLights …..it’s even better."
This evening's episode of Blue Lights saw Stevie (Martin McCann) being paired with Sandra (Andi Osho) following his decision to put some distance between himself and Grace (Sian Brooke).
