Strictly's Gorka Marquez 'annoyed' in first-look clip as he lands role away from family

Gemma Atkinson has shared a tell-tale way of knowing that her partner Gorka Marquez is annoyed. Teasing the second series of their docuseries, Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind the Lens, the couple, who met on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, shared an insight into the couple's "crazy family".

The programme, which airs this evening (May 6) on UKTV, shows sweet moments with their two children, Mia, four, and son Thiago, six months. It follows the hard-working couple as Gemma continues to keep busy through her maternity leave and Gorka lives between Manchester and Spain, taking on a new role on the Spanish version of Strictly.

The teaser video showed mum-of-two, Gemma, posing for a photoshoot as she said: "I'm going to send a photo to Gorka and say 'I've still got it!' Only just!"

It also showed Gorka gearing up for his new job in Spain, as Gemma explained how she can tell her fiance is annoyed. She said: "You can tell he's annoyed because you went 'mm'," as she pulled a tight-lipped face.

Sharing the good news of the show's return on his Instagram account, Gorka wrote: "We’re back! Our 2nd series of 'Gemma & Gorka: life behind the lens' starts tonight at 8pm on @wtvchannel @uktvplay."

He added: "Thank you for sticking with us, we hope you enjoy our crazy family life…"

Fellow Strictly stars, Helen Skelton, Luba Mushtuk and Jowita Przystał were some of the first to celebrate the good news, as they all posted clapping hand emojis in the comments. Other Instagram users shared that they were excited to watch.

Previously speaking of what to expect from the new series of their show, Gemma said: "We’ve kind of stuck to the same rules as we had for series one in that we don’t want any glam team, we don’t want any hair and make-up and or any lighting. We just want it natural, raw and honest."

Helen Nightingale, UKTV’s head of factual and factual entertainment, said: "I’m so excited to have Gemma and Gorka back on our screens for a second series.

"Their warm and relatable relationship, and hilariously unfiltered moments from series one, have left audiences wanting more and I can’t wait to see what else the family have in store for us in this next instalment."

The couple have recently revealed plans to delay their wedding and try and find a second home in Spain. Speaking of wedding plans, Gemma told OK! Magazine: "We’d like Thiago to be involved now so we’re going to have to wait another year or so.

"When we first got engaged we said we’ll get Mia walking down the aisle and then Thiago came along... and there’s no time!"

She added: "We were toying with just going to a registry office and then having a big party after. But I think my mum would like to see me walk down the aisle so no plans yet but one day it will happen."

The second series of Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind The Lens airs on W and UKTV Play from May 6 at 8pm.
