Dean Andrews says he and Claire King 'are very similar'
Emmerdale’s Dean Andrews, who is best known for playing Will Taylor in the ITV soap, got married to his partner Helen last year on his 60th birthday.
However, he confessed the decision was slightly prompted by Helen’s ultimatum. Speaking about tying the knot last year, the actor said: “'We never found time to get wed.
“Then Helen said: 'I won't marry someone over 60.' So I thought. 'I better get that sorted’. Dean revealed to The Mirror that people questioned why he wanted to get married at 60, although it seems as though it was a no-brainer decision for the soap star.
He continued: “I'm happy to have found love with such a wonderful woman and [wanted to] celebrate that.” The duo first met at a friend’s birthday party two decades ago as Dean explained they were both recently separated at the time.
Dean added: “I saw her at this party and thought she was a rather attractive lady, so it wasn't too difficult for me to ask if she'd like a drink. As for the big event? 'It was a brilliant day.'
Helen and Dean officially tied the knot in September 2023 in a private ceremony in Gretna Green. The soap star wore a light grey suit with a pink polo shirt underneath and brown shoes to finish the look off.
Whereas Helen opted for a glamorous beaded gown with a deep plunging neckline and long sleeves. The following month, they celebrated with their loved ones in a stunning Yorkshire barn.

Dean’s marriage confession comes after the 60-year-old recently had a major health scare and had to be taken to hospital.
Sharing a snap of himself in his hospital bed giving a thumbs up, the actor revealed he had had to undergo surgery.
Although he didn’t disclose the procedure he had done, Dean expressed his gratitude to the staff at Sheffield's Thornbury Hospital. He wrote: "Surgery went well. Very happy to have woken up. Many thanks to my surgeon Chris and all the staff."
It wasn’t long before some of his Emmerdale co-stars sent him well wishes as Lisa Riley said: “GET WELL SOON LOVELY”
Mark Charnock added: “Get well soon, Mr A. x”. Ash Palmisciano wrote: “Wishing you a speedy recovery mastery.”
With Karen Blick commenting: “Get well soon love xx”
