Laura Tobin was absent from Friday's instalment of Good Morning Britain and replaced by Ruth Dodsworth, 48.

The 42-year-old joined Good Morning Britain as the lead weather presenter in 2014, so ITV viewers wondered where she was during the latest instalment of the programme.

Laura usually shares updates on Twitter and Instagram about the forecast, often sharing clips of herself presenting the weather from the Good Morning Britain studio, but she has remained quiet online in recent days.

ITV viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Laura not appearing on Friday's show as Ruth stepped in to present in her place.

One fan shared: "So good to have @Ruth_ITV on. She is always clear and concise. No mumbling and stumbling like the other replacement. Would like to see her more often."

A second shared: "I like @Ruth_ITV much nicer than the usual weather presenter."

Another noted: "Keep her get rid of Tobin." Meanwhile, Dolly shared: "Nice to just get the forecast and not a lecture!!!"

"Great to see @Ruth_ITV back on @GMB this morning," another viewer gushed.

Lynda shared: "Lovely to see you on @GMB this morning too, Ruth, our very own ray of sunshine. Xx" (sic)

Laura was last seen presenting the weather on Thursday from a stunning tulip field in another part of the country while the flowers were being picked in rows.

The weather presenter told the camera: "Good Morning to you, I am in north Norfolk surrounded by a rainbow of colour from these amazing tulips. There are 6.3 million here in the field behind me and later on they are going to be deadheaded. "

Laura said tours for people across the country to see the stunning tulips have sold out, adding: "It is absolutely beautiful.

"Once they are deadheaded they are left here to slowly rot away and then nurture the soil, and then in June they are taken up and planted at the end of the year.

"And then they are grown into tulips which will be sold in supermarkets at the start of next year."

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays between 6am and 9am on ITV and ITVX.
