Coronation Street's Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, is set to face further turmoil in the coming episodes as he collapses in his cell amidst new revelations about Lauren Bolton's disappearance and suspected murder. The beloved cafe owner was charged with the teen's murder and denied bail earlier this month.

In the upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, Roy attempts to contact his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) from the cafe, but when Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) hands the phone to Carla Connor (Alison King), she abruptly hangs up, citing a faulty line before rushing off.

While in his prison cell, Roy experiences another flashback of Lauren approaching the cafe counter with Max Tuner (Paddy Bever), yet struggles to understand the significance of their conversation. However, his train of thought is interrupted when a prison officer knocks on the door.

At the factory, Bobby Crawford (Jack Caroll) suggests to Carla that Roy must have remained silent about the false statement, otherwise the police would have already intervened. Concurrently, in the visiting room, Nina informs the prison officer that she's waiting for Roy.

Upon entering Roy's cell, the officer discovers him collapsed on the floor, ITV soap spoilers have revealed.

Later, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) pays a visit to a despondent Roy in hospital. When Roy discloses that he's trying to recall the details of a conversation he overheard between Max and Lauren, believing it to be important, Mary encourages him not to lose hope, assuring him that it will eventually come back to him.

In a surprising turn of events, Nina discloses that the police are planning to film a reconstruction in the cafe of Lauren's last known movements. Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) steps up to mention it on her new radio show to raise awareness.

Later, Roy makes a call from prison to Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), informing her about Lauren's necklace and suggesting that if they can trace its origin, they might be able to identify her mystery boyfriend.

Elsewhere, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is in high spirits at the cab office, telling Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) that he's had three matches since joining the dating site. At the cafe, Steve shares a photo of Maggie, a potential date, with Abi Webster (Sally Carman) and her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell).

However, Kevin's sexist comments cause Abi to storm out in frustration.

Later, Steve excitedly tells Tim that Maggie has agreed to meet him for lunch at the Bistro. But when Steve meets his online date, Carole, at the Rovers, he's taken aback to find she's brought three friends along.

Aurora then insists that Tim join them, refusing to take no for an answer. When Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) arrives at the pub and sees her husband Tim with a tipsy woman, laughing like a schoolboy, what will her reaction be?

Later, a disheartened Steve confesses to Amy that he's tired of dating apps. However, his mood quickly changes when he receives a message from Demi.

As Steve gets ready for his date, he tells Amy that he believes Demi is the one. Steve then meets Demi at the Rovers, and they instantly click.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays o ITV at 8pm.
