ITV The Chase fans issue the same complaint after player takes Anne Hegerty's low offer

ITV viewers took to social media to slam a contestant after she took a lower offer on The Chase. During today's edition of the quiz show, four new contestants were up against Anne Hegerty in a bid to win some cash.

The third contestant Megan only managed to rack up £1,000 during the cash-builder round and then decided to go for the lower offer of £500 against The Chaser. However, fans were left stunned when she managed to make it to the final round.

One person commented on X: "So Meghan, you're laughing at Anne for getting questions wrong, when you got just £1k on the cash builder, and then took the low offer...? #thechase #Shame."

A second chimed in: "Is Anne trying to give her a chance #thechase," as another person said: "Megan there proving how invaluable her knowledge is #TheChase."

A fourth person commented: "£500 should clear her student debt #TheChase," as another said: "Well, gosh, she doesn't know very much. How unusual for a student #thechase."

Despite making it to the final round with over £10,000 up for grabs, Anne managed to catch the final group of three with 49 seconds remaining on the clock.

The first contestant was the only person to be caught by Anne during The Chase round. Jennifer from Keighley managed to amass £5,000 but suffered when she tested her knowledge against The Chaser.

Meanwhile, Adam from Wolverhampton was described by some viewers as looking distinctly similar to a politician. ITV fans rushed to social media to say that he looked like George Osborne.

One person pointed out on X: "Adam reminds me of a politician #thechase," as another chimed in: "Seat 4 is George Osborne from Wish #TheChase."

A third typed: "Is Adam related to George Osborne? #thechase."

The second contestant Martin from Kirkbymoorside also racked up £5,000 and stuck with his original offer before making it to the final round.
