Britain's Got Talent fans were left seething after an opera tenor didn't receive the all-important Golden Buzzer on Sunday's instalment of the long-running ITV show.

During the episode, the judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were introduced to a charming contestant called Innocent Masuku. He oozed charisma and Amanda adored his shirt, which his mother made for him.

He'd brought his partner along with him for support, and she was watching with anticipation in the London Palladium's audience before he belted out a breathtaking rendition of ‘Caruso’ by Lucio Dalla.

Innocent received a standing ovation from the judges and audience who were blown away by his incredible vocals. However, viewers didn't understand how he missed out on a Golden Buzzer and lashed out on social media in droves.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sharon fumed: "Someone, press the bl**dy buzzer! #BritainsGotTalent. What the hell?"

A second fan penned: "Press the buzzer. #BritainsGotTalent." Alan added: "Now THAT is what a golden buzzer should be for #BritainsGotTalent."

Amelia wrote: "Innocent should be a golden buzzer. Holy s**t #BritainsGotTalent."

Georgia raged: "I can't believe Innocent didn't get a golden buzzer. That was amazing. #BritainsGotTalent."

Kayla said: "Best singer they've had, yet no golden buzzer? This show doesn't make sense #BritainsGotTalent."

Another remarked: "The opera singer deserved the golden buzzer over the choir 100% #BritainsGotTalent." (sic)

Earlier on in the episode, a choir group called choir group Ravi's Dream Team was awarded Alesha's Golden Buzzer for their moving performance.

Alesha and Amanda broke down in tears as eight-year-old Ravi Adelekan took to the stage with medical professionals and other children from the brain tumour community.

When Simon asked what made them want to audition, Ravi replied: “I’ve watched BGT all my life and have always wanted to audition. Two years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

“I’m here to show that no matter what life throws at you, you can still achieve your dreams.”

a tearful Alesha said after pressing her Golden Buzzer: "The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right and you're such a remarkable young man."

Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday April 27 at 7.30pm on ITV.
