Capital fans feared for ex-Love Islander Laura Anderson after she failed to make an appearance for her regular radio hosting slot. She normally appears between 6am and 10am every morning alongside co-host Fat Brestovci to revive Scots after a night of slumbers.

The 34-year-old was forced out of her usual routine today, however, after her seven-month-old daughter Bonnie had a medical emergency. The baby - whom she shares with ex-Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy - had sparked alarm after her temperature had soared over 39C and her heart rate had risen rapidly.

However, she vowed that she takes her radio slot "very seriously" and clarified that she'd be back at work tomorrow. In a post published to her 1.5 million Instagram followers, she wrote: "I just wanted to apologise to the Capital listeners.

"I've not been able to make it into work this morning, unfortunately. Bonnie comes first and I've not been able to get permanent childcare for her since starting the job." She continued: "I don't want to leave her with someone she doesn't know until she's better."

She clarified that she thinks co-host Fat "is incredible by himself" and capable of hosting an "amazing" solo show. "Yes, I'll be back tomorrow," Laura added.

"It's been a bit of a tough night, I need to try and get a urine sample from this little one!"

Laura went on to thank listeners again for their messages of concern.

"Not to scare anyone, [Bonnie] just had a really high temperature over 39 when I got home yesterday and her heart rate spiked so we just need to get her checked out," she explained.

Laura first met Bonnie's dad Gary Lucy, who previously played Luke in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, when they both appeared on the reality show Celebs Go Dating back in 2022.

They quickly fell for each other, before breaking up during the pregnancy after Gary stated that making things work long-distance proved a struggle.

Gary has four children from a previous relationship with ex Natasha Gray, and he'd refused to move to Laura's native Scotland as it would impact on how often he was able to see his other kids.

He'd told The Sun: "Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here... so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.

"“Having gone through a divorce, my children need me and living such a long way from them just would not be possible. I wish I could break myself in half. I would if I could!" he vowed.

However, heartbroken Laura later hinted at additional issues when she revealed she had "always" planned to move to Essex to be with him.

She expressed upset over Gary's decision when sharing an Instagram video of their daughter yesterday, captioning it: "How anyone could go without seeing their child is beyond me. I love you Bonnie Rose."

The radio host, who took on the new breakfast show after Tallia Storm quit last month, is expected to be back tomorrow.
