During Loose Women’s Tuesday instalment, Victoria Cilliers appeared on the daytime chat show to speak about her horrific ordeal which left viewers saying the same thing online. Victoria, 48, was married to Emile when he tried to kill her when they went skydiving.
Back in 2015, Victoria, who is an experienced skydiver, went out on an adventurous day with her then partner. Emile, 45, is currently serving an 18-year sentence in prison following being found guilty in 2017.
Following a two-year court battle evidence showed that it was not the first time Emile planned to end his wife’s life. Before tampering with her parachute, he tampered with pipes in her home.
On the ITV show, she told panellists Christine Lampard, Brenda Edwards, Janette Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan his plan. He was going to start a new life with his Austrian mistress using a £120,000 life insurance pay-out following Victoria's death.
Although Victoria escaped death after surviving the 4,000ft fall, at Netheravon airfield, Wiltshire. However, viewers were left baffled that the show suggested that she is still married to Emile.
Fans were left confused and questioned if Victoria was still married to Emile – as she still goes by his surname.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user wrote: “What I don’t understand, he is still her husband despite the indcident happening years ago.”
“Shouldn’t it be my ‘ex-husband’ cut my parachute? He’s not her husband anymore,” added a second.

A third chimed in and wrote: “So the husband is in prison can’t she get a divorce.”
In light of the circumstances, Victoria attempted to divorce Emile but he refused to sign the paperwork.
At the time she said he wanted more time to discuss the viability of the marriage and told their legal team he would not agree to their legal separation.
She decided to get a divorce because she didn't want any further contact with the man who tried to kill her twice but Emile believed that they could have a future together and blocked the divorce.
Victoria is due to get remarried this year after going on to find love once again. However, she has been faced with legal action by her former husband.
Emile is seeking tens of thousands of pounds of equity from the family home in Amesbury, Wiltshire.
