Corrie: Tracy wants to get back together with Steve
Coronation Street fans were left fuming after Monday night's (April 1) installment as Steve McDonald (played by Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) reunited briefly on the ITV soap. The couple split following her affair with former Weatherfield County footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).
With her lover set to move to Spain to manage a football team, Tracy found herself single again, not long after admitting to daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney) that she missed having a man in her life.
Unbeknownst to her, Tommy had written her a letter asking her to come to Spain with him. However, the letter had been intercepted by Steve.
Having decided that she wanted her husband back, Steve arrived home and found Tracy wearing his bathrobe. She told him that she wanted to get back together - assuring him that Tommy was a stupid mistake.
Buoyed by her change of heart, Steve suggested they celebrate. He then quietly burnt the letter to ensure that Tracy wouldn't see it.

@heavenrise was not impressed with what they had done to the character of Steve, commenting: "God Steve's pathetic. They've massacred his character. #Corrie." @bosdovja92 chimed in: "Will the writers ever give Steve a serious piece of dialogue? #corrie."
Meanwhile @kellycrumpton94 was also worried for the character, imploring: "TELL HER NO STEVE!! she only wants you back now things with her and Tommy are doneut then Steve’s a mug so he’ll take her back won’t he #coronationstreet #corrie." @Villaboy89 agreed commenting: "I wouldn't get back with Tracy, not after she said she didnt love me anymore after cheating on me #Corrie."

However, there was another twist in the tale as Tommy called Tracy to ask why she had ignored his letter.
Although she initally thought Amy had destroyed it in an attempt to keep her parents together, the teen soon put her straight.
Realising that Steve had sabotaged her chance at happiness with her lover, Tracy confronted her husband and, almost as quickly as it happened, their reunion was over - as she anounced her intention to join Tommy abroad.
Coronation Street is on ITV and ITVX Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm.
