Emmerdale exit as fans 'work out' Eric Pollard is framed by villager after secret exposed

ITV Emmerdale fans think they have worked out how Amit Sharma's (played by Anil Goutam) story will end following Wednesday night's explosive episode.

Towards the end of the programme, Amit's son, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) paid a visit to Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), who had been trying to expose the con man after he tried to steal money from him. Despite initially, brushing off Eric's claims, Jai finally realised who his dad was when he saw him give takings from The Hyde to loan sharks.

However, Amit lied about where the money had gone and told Jai he was mugged and the money was stolen from him. Little did he know, Jai witnessed the entire thing unfold.

As Eric answered the door, Jai said: "You were right, Amit is a liar, a con man, and a thief. I saw him today handing over the takings from The Hyde to a loan shark. AMit was saying to her, 'There is plenty where that came from'."

"So he really is in serious trouble," Eric replied as Jai fired back: "Clearly. I should have trusted my instincts. He is a pathological liar and if he is capable of that, what else is he capable of?"

Jai added: "Amit has been playing us all, looking for weakness."

The businessman went on to discuss his father's death last year as he told Eric he believes Amit had something to do with it.

"I knew it, I felt it," he raged. "Amit has had us all in his sights. to rip us off. Amit is evil, I don't want him near me or my family."

"What are we going to do?" Eric asked as Jai simply replied: "May him pay."

Following the episode, fans took to social media to share their own theories, and while many are happy Amit will be exposed once and for all, others don't think Jai can be trusted.

Taking to X, one fan pleaded: "Eric! Please don't hand everything you know about Amit over to Jai. He can't be trusted either. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to that family #Emmerdale."

Another agreed: "I'm not sure I trust Jai. I've never really liked him. He's always been shifty. How do we know he's not trying to con Eric into handing over what he knows so he can use it against him in order to protect Amit? #Emmerdale."

A third went on: "Eric and Jai make a good team I hope they bring down that nasty man Amit #emmerdale."

"Time’s definitely running out for Amit then #Emmerdale," someone else suggested.

Another said: "Time to take Amit down #Emmerdale."

One fan tweeted: "#Emmerdale Jai and Eric in a team and now they know who killed him."
